List of All BlackRock iShares ETFs: Complete Overview

BlackRock, founded by Larry Fink in 1988, acquired the iShares ETF brand from Barclays Global Investors in 2009 in a deal worth around $13.5 billion. The iShares lineup traces its roots to March 1996, when the first 17 ETFs — originally called World Equity Benchmark Shares (WEBS) — launched as the first international ETFs with exposure to countries like Mexico, Canada, and Brazil. Today, iShares is the largest ETF issuer globally, with a lineup of over 1,600 funds.

iShares ETFs are listed on exchanges worldwide, including the New York Stock Exchange, London Stock Exchange, Toronto Stock Exchange, Hong Kong Stock Exchange, and the Australian Securities Exchange, among others. The product range spans six asset classes:

  • Equity: Core index funds such as the iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV) and international trackers like the iShares MSCI EAFE ETF (EFA), covering U.S. stocks and developed markets abroad.
  • Fixed Income: iShares launched the first U.S. bond ETFs in July 2002 — including TLT, SHY, IEF, and LQD — and now offers the iBonds lineup targeting fixed-maturity bond strategies. Browse more in our largest bond ETFs list.
  • Thematic & Factor ETFs: Products like IDRV, IHAK, and IDNA form part of the Megatrends suite, while factor ETFs target historically rewarded characteristics such as value, momentum, and quality.
  • ESG & Sustainable: The iShares MSCI USA ESG Select ETF (SUSA) debuted in January 2005 as one of the earliest ESG ETFs, followed later by sustainable fixed income products like SUSC.
  • Digital Assets & Commodities: The iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) provides exposure to Bitcoin, alongside commodity-focused funds.
  • Active & Outcome ETFs: Active strategies managed by BlackRock’s fundamental and systematic portfolio teams, plus options-based outcome ETFs.

The iShares Core ETF lineup, introduced in October 2012, offers a set of low-expense funds designed as basic building blocks for portfolio construction. For a broader comparison with other providers, see our complete list of ETFs.
