VanEck ETFs: Complete List with Live Performance Data
Founded in 1955 by John C. van Eck — who launched one of the first U.S. mutual funds focused on international markets — VanEck has grown from a post-war investment pioneer into a global asset manager headquartered in New York City. The firm entered the ETF business in 2006 and now offers 74 U.S.-listed ETFs, making it the 10th largest ETF provider on the U.S. stock market. ETFs account for over 75% of the firm’s total assets under management.
VanEck built its reputation on commodities and hard assets. It launched the first U.S. mutual fund dedicated to gold equities back in 1968, and the Gold Miners ETF (GDX) — its very first ETF product — remains a flagship. The lineup spans a wide range of themes and asset classes:
- Gold & precious metals: GDX (Gold Miners ETF) and GDXJ (Junior Gold Miners ETF), tracking companies involved in gold and silver mining
- Semiconductors: SMH (Semiconductor ETF), the largest semiconductor ETF on the market
- Moat investing: MOAT (Morningstar Wide Moat ETF), which uses Morningstar’s forward-looking equity research to identify quality companies trading at attractive valuations
- Digital assets: HODL (Bitcoin ETF), an SEC-approved spot Bitcoin ETF trading on the Cboe. VanEck was the first established ETF issuer to file for a bitcoin-linked ETF back in 2017
- Emerging markets & income: EMLC and EMHY for emerging market bonds, BIZD for business development company income, and PFXF for non-financial preferred securities
Beyond these flagships, VanEck organizes its ETF lineup around themes including artificial intelligence, biotech, gaming, India growth, municipal bonds, oil production, and resource transition — among others. Many of VanEck’s specialized indices are produced by a subsidiary based in Frankfurt am Main. The firm also expanded its European presence by acquiring Think ETF Asset Management, a Dutch ETF issuer, in 2018, and now offers roughly 200 ETFs globally.
VanEck ETFs trade on major U.S. exchanges including NYSE Arca and the Cboe. Browse the complete list of all ETFs or compare providers like BlackRock iShares.
