World’s Largest Company by Market Cap | Live Ranking

NVIDIA, the Santa Clara-based semiconductor company founded in 1993, currently holds the title of the world’s largest company by market capitalization. It was also the first company ever to reach a market cap of $4 trillion — a milestone driven by surging demand for its GPUs across artificial intelligence and data science applications.

The race for the top spot is never settled for long. Apple was the founding member of the exclusive $1 trillion club back in 2018 and later became the first to cross $2 trillion and $3 trillion. Microsoft is the only company that appears in both historical and current top-10 rankings, having been near the top for over two decades. Alphabet became the fourth company — after NVIDIA, Microsoft, and Apple — to surpass $3 trillion.

Today’s largest companies in the world are overwhelmingly technology firms. Seven of the top ten belong to the tech sector, with semiconductor companies like TSMC and Broadcom also ranking in the top 20. Saudi Aramco stands out as one of only two non-U.S. companies in the top ten.

The composition of this list has shifted dramatically over the years. Until the early 2010s, traditional blue-chip names like ExxonMobil, General Electric, and AT&T dominated. By contrast, today’s leaders — grouped informally as the Magnificent 7 (Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Meta Platforms, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Tesla) — are all technology-driven.

Why does this page show more than one company? Stock markets are volatile. The ranking of the most valuable companies can change daily — even hourly — depending on share price movements. Presenting the top contenders gives a more complete picture of who currently leads.
